OBJECTIVES

Presentation

“Do you have a background in science (mathematics, physics or earth sciences) and an interest in coastal areas?
The Masters in Environmental Sciences will enable you to understand complex research and social issues relating to the integrated management of natural and coastal areas.
The Geoscience and Coastal Geophysics (GGL) programme provides you with fundamental skills, both theoretical and practical, in terrestrial and marine geophysics, geodesy, marine geology and coastal oceanography.
You will be trained in the use of geophysical instruments on land and at sea, data acquisition, scientific computing, modelling and digital data processing to provide answers to a problem relating to the coastal physical environment. For measurements at sea, students benefit from the opportunity to use a vessel from the French oceanographic fleet.
This course prepares you for rigorous reasoning, based on current knowledge of the coastline. You will be able to carry out interdisciplinary reflection, make a diagnosis and propose and/or simulate possible developments in order to respond to societal demands in the coastal area.”
In addition to this course, a master’s programme in engineering is available: https://www.univ-larochelle.fr/formation/nos-formations/cursus-master-ingenierie-cmi
