“The MEPAT track, Year 2 of the Master’s degree in History, offers training focusing on heritage, conceived in its anthropological and historical dimensions, in connection with territorial policies and the construction of memories. This course enables students to acquire in-depth expertise in the management, conservation and promotion of heritage and heritage sites. It offers a reflection on the uses of heritage, between conservation/protection and exploitation.
The originality of this course is that it develops a culture of collective and collaborative work, structured around a tutored project and an intensive week outside the classroom.
The aim of this master’s programme is to offer a research pathway for students who wish to go on to a doctorate. In addition to the possibility of continuing in the field of research, a doctorate will give access to management positions in major national or international heritage institutions, thanks to the mastery of English.
The path of excellence mapped out by this programme, which is supported by a UNESCO Chair (to be created), will provide students with skills that are firmly rooted in contemporary heritage policies, in line with the needs of local, national and international heritage and cultural actors.”
